I have got a small paddock Can anyone tell me what the small holes are that have appeared?

There is about forty holes about the size of a golf ball, all seem to be in the same area. Its the first time they have been there.

If there are mounds of soil making little heaps they could be mole holes. Jan

If pile of soil nearby moles. If no soil likely to be crows pushing their beaks into the soil to eat leather jackets (crane fly larvae).
