Don’t even think along those lines.
I used to – but have survived a few minor skirmishes until my retirement.

You should have a long and happy life in front of you but, without maturity and experience, you may soon be very dead (no way back!).

Even if you want to really risk your life think of any passengers, other drivers, pedestrians etc. Don’t be selfish.

If you want to drive fast buy a course at a racing circuit, enjoy it, and let a professional evaluate your “skills” – and still think again!

The newer and faster the car the more the insurance. It really depends on the insurance too. Either way the best car ever is the Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. i just love them. They are fast stock and probably the most easily upgradeable cars ever. You see them all the time at drag races

You’re gonna die young .. money might not be a restriction, but it won’t help when you fly into scenery because your ego has written a cheque that your talent can’t cash.
One year without a crash/claim and 18 years old eh? …. to be brutally honest people like you scare me, and I’ve been a professional driver and motorcyclist for 37 years.

You should never think on how fast you can get out of a car , you should be thinking about safety , and other road users. Speed is only a mugs game and KILLS .

this type of question have to be the most ridiculous going.
If you want to know what types of car you can buy that are fast look on autotrader if you want to know what you can stand a chance of insuring at 18 with 1yr NCB phone a insurance company or go on a comparision website.

I have said it before i will say it again having a car which can go fast is as much use as a chocolate tea pot if you dont know what to do with it.

Any fool can go fast in a straight line but what does that prove??? seriously what does being able to say i did 120mph on a big straight bit of road actually prove – there is no skill involved with that at all other than not being cought and banned.

Being able to handle a car is a skill you learn by experience and tution. Try going to a track day with your little 1.6 golf and see if you have the skills to push that around a track before you worry about going faster.

I guarantee you will be surprised and disappointed once you have a track available to you at just how bad your driving at speed really is…. but at the same time some expert tution will prove you can save you more seconds around a track by driving well than having a extra 50or 100HP will.

i choose instead of wasting tonnes of money by paying 2k+ to insure a car marginally quicker that i would be better off driving a 1.3 and paying to attended track days, go cart racing and skid pan control at Castle Coombe and various open days at airstrips etc and can say learning to drive a 1.3 at close to its limits but being in control is far far more fun and rewarding than having a car which can go fast in a straight line but then not knowing what to do once you come to a corner
