There is about forty holes about the size of a golf ball, all seem to be in the same area. Its the first time they have been there.

I have the rear caliper off and i am stumped i assume a type of ratchet is stopping the piston from returning, in order to fit new brake pads. I have worked on many brakes in my time, just never done one of these. Any help would be most appreciated.
